Pimlico Race Course is a horse racetrack  most famous for hosting the Preakness Stakes.  The track officially opened in the fall of 1870, with the colt Preakness winning the first running of the Dinner Party Stakes. Three years later the horse would have the first Preakness Stakes named in his honor. The track is also noted as the home for the match race in which Seabiscuit beat War Admiral on November 1, 1938.  The track has a one mile dirt oval and a seven furlong turf oval. There is stabling for about 1,000 horses and the attendance capacity, including the infield, is about 100,000.  2007 Race Dates: Apr. 19 - Jun. 9 Post Time - 1:10 p.m., Preakness Day - 10:00 a.m. KY Derby and Belmont days - 12:45 p.m. Doors Open 11:30am.  Admission - Grandstand & Clubhouse $3.00*  Sports Palace $5.00 (weekdays).  Preakness Race Day Hours and Admission
