Harborplace is a festival marketplace that opened in 1980.  It serves as a centerpiece of the revival of downtown Baltimore. Harborplace is comprised of two 2-story pavilions, the Pratt Street Pavilion and the Light Street Pavilion. The third part of the Harborplace complex is a 4-story glass-enclosed building known as The Gallery at Harborplace, which opened in 1987. Each of these buildings contains stores and restaurants. Harborplace was designed by Benjamin C. Thompson and was built by the developer James W. Rouse and The Rouse Company.
